A case study for - Good News for Businesses with Slow Broadband

Good News for Businesses with Slow Broadband

You may or may not know that today was the first Autumn Statement from the recently appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond. Hidden in the statement was exciting news for businesses. Hammond pledged over £1bn of public money towards laying new fibre and implementing 5G networks, which will help provide better broadband and mobile data services across the UK.

“Our future transport, business and lifestyle needs will require world class digital infrastructure to underpin them. So my ambition is for the UK to be a world leader in 5G”, Hammond said. A further £400m will be given to a Digital Infrastructure Investment Fund which can be used to match private funding of fibre network rollouts over the next four years.

“So, what does this mean for me?” I hear you ask?

Well, Mint Telecom are resellers of many products provided by Openreach, it means that in the future we will be able to provide you with faster fibre broadband and 5G connectivity as soon as it becomes available.

Our location in Stourbridge means that we do get enquiries from rural businesses, particularly out towards Telford and Shropshire. For some of these businesses slow and unreliable broadband is a real business issue. We already have a long list of potential clients that are waiting for services to become available. This news of investment from the government should mean that faster broadband for businesses should be available soon.

If you want to know what services will be available to your business in the coming months please get in touch and we’ll ensure you’re upgraded as soon as possible.
